Ashcombe Church, Devon- Arran & Steph
Arran and Stef met nearly 8 years ago through mutual friends at a festival. After all those fantastic years, they set 9 months to plan their wedding, choosing Ashcombe Chruch & Ashcombe Village Hall, going for a handcrafted shabby chic wedding style.
As both their families are highly creative, many people got involved with the wedding preparations, handcrafting everyting from floral arrangements, the wedding cake and wedding favours to beautifully decorating the church and the entire Village Hall that would set almost 50 people, transforming it from its otherwise spartan wooden frame.
On their wedding day, the rain made Steph have a rather hasty entry into the church, so didn't keep Arran waitng too long! It was an intimate ceremony, followed by some formal photos taken inside the church, taking advantage of the natural light pouring through the 13th Century lancet windows. Throwing confetti with the wind howling outside was a challenge, but a success! We then all made out way to Ashcombe Village Hall a couple of miles down the road for food, drinks and speeches. Refreshingly, Arran & Steph made a joint speech, quite rightly thanking their families especially for their hard work in helping make their day such a success, minus the weather!
With only four tables' worth of guests, I felt most privileged at amoung them, to be a part of Arran & Steph's wedding celebrations. Permitting myself a couple of drinks, it was remarkably easy to chat to their friends and family alike, testament to the affable nature of this bright, young couple! I wish them the best of luck :)
